Velammal Main School (Mogappair) celebrated its 31st annual Vallal Pandi Durai Memorial competition in commemoration of classical Tamil on Aug. 19.
The special guest was lyricist Mr. Arivu Mathi.
Around 30 leading schools of Chennai took part in this celebration.
About 450 students participated in various competitions like Oratorical, Essay writing, Drawing, Singing and Dance Competition that reflected Tamil Heritage and Culture.
The event was conducted in two phases and the first three winners were duly awarded and all the participants were given consolation prizes by the chief guest.
