conducting “Eka Dhina Koti Gayathri Japam” in Sri Ramakrishna School, Bazullah

As a Part of Project, by Hon’ble Justice Dr. P. Jyothimani,
Judicial Member, National Green Tribunal,Southern Zone, Chennai by planting
trees and free distribution of saplings to students at Dr. MGR Home &
Hig.Sec. School for the speech and Hearing impaired, Ramapuram, Chennai, along
with Mrs. Latha Rajendran, founder Secretary, Exnora Founder M.B. Nirmal, R.
Govindaraj, President, J. Fatheraj Jain, Secretary- North Chennai, K.V. Suresh,
V. Usha, T. Viswanath, R. Sridharan, Ms. Abhirami (Exnora Greater Chennai).
Participated in the event.
Justice Jyothimani said ‘Chennai’s green cover was already less
than what is required and stood at about 6%. The devastating cyclone had
further reduced the green cover by 2% and it presently stands at around 4%.
There is therefore immediate need to increase the green cover to compensate for
this huge loss. Tree planting is the only solution and everyone should take up
this as their personal responsibility to increase the green cover, so that we
will leave a better world for our children. Students and youth should be
actively involved so that they can enthusiastically participate in this great
task’. He further added that Exnora has been carrying out several environmental
and social activities for more than 25 years and it is commendable that they
have decided to concentrate only on Re-Greening Chennai during 2017.
More than 250 students and teachers were participated in this
event and took oath to contribute to the Re-Greening activity throughout the
year.

Cancer Detection Camp was held
on March.31at Saligramam.
Specialist doctors from Adyar
cancer institute were consulted by participants.
The organizers told this
reporter that 51 women attended the camp but want of time only 40 women were
diagnosed and other participants will be diagnosed in the forthcoming camps.
All women who were found to be
patients provided with card for treatment without cost throughout their life
time.
Doctors from Cancer institute
(Adyar) addressed the gathering of men and women on the causes of cancer,
prevention and learning about cancer.
They strongly advised the
participants not to use cigarettes, gutka and other chewing materials and
insisted women not to ignore small lumps or bleeding in them.
Ln I Karuppaiah ( E n v i r o n
m e n t a l i s t ) inaugurated the camp. He spoke on the importance of women
health and dangerous of cancer.
Mr Janardhanan (President of
BVP) welcomed the gathering.
S. Ethirajan (one of the organizers) told that such camps will
be conducted in the name his mother Saroja Srinivasan in future also.
Tender coconut at Rs.25

Mount Poonamallee High Road, near Ramakrishna Nagar Main Road, Porur.
Story telling competition for students on ‘Ramanujar’
As part of Sri Ramanujar’s
1000th birth anniversary celebrations, S Ethirajan, (Heart2Flower), Kannan
Kabisthalam family along with Shri Ramanuja Bhaktha Sabha(Virugambakkam) will
conduct story telling competition for children on life experiences of Sri
Ramanujar on April 30 at 10 a.m in Temple, Virugambakkam).
It has been divided into three
groups like children who study upto 6th std., 7th std. to 10th Std and 11th std
and above.
The results of the competition
will be announced on the same day evening. Winners will be given prizes and
needy students will be offered free books. All Students are invited across all
places to participate.
