K. Gopinath (Disabled activist and resident of 14th sector K.K.Nagar) received “Samathuva Maamani Award" for the exemplary services rendered by him to the cause of the disabled.
The award was presented by Justice M.V.Muralidharan of Madras High Court.
The programme was organised by World friendship centre recently.
K. Gopinath is the State General Secretary of Tamilnadu Udavikkaram Association for the welfare of differently abled (TNUAWDA).
He has helped thousands of differently Abled persons, in getting free aids and assistance, medical assistance, education and legal assistance etc.
He has already received several other awards too, which includes Best Social Worker State Award from Tamilnadu Government, Ascendas Excellence Award, Dr. A.P J. Abdul Kalam award.
